WE KNOW CONCRETE.
With over 45 years of experience under our belt, we fabricate concrete products using the best of both traditional and today’s leading edge technology. All of our products are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed requirements of CSA23.4 and ASTM C1364.
Along with our extensive product collection, we offer design, engineering and custom site solutions.

ED’S CONCRETE is proud to be certified by Canadian Precast Concrete Quality Assurance Certification Program.
The purpose of the CPCQA is to protect and advance the best interests of the precast concrete products industry in Canada, and to protect and serve the public from a safety perspective, by certifying manufacturers who demonstrate the ability to meet national standards and other best practices.

ED’S CONCRETE: 40 YEARS SERVING STRATFORD
At ED’s Concrete, we are committed to sustainability without compromising quality and performance. Our concrete is designed to reduce environmental impact while delivering the strength and durability you expect.
How We Lower Carbon Emissions:
✔ Beyond Portland-Limestone Cement (PLC): We go further by incorporating even more finely ground limestone, reducing traditional cement content and significantly cutting CO₂ emissions.
✔ High Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM) Content: We replace a significant portion of cement with slag and fly ash, industrial byproducts that enhance durability and reduce carbon impact.
✔ Efficient Batching & Curing: Our precision-controlled batching and energy-efficient curing processes reduce material waste and further lower our carbon footprint.
By choosing ED’s Concrete, you’re investing in sustainable, high-quality precast solutions that help build a greener future.
Reduced Cement Content
-
Why? Cement is the primary source of COâ‚‚ in concrete due to its energy-intensive production.
-
How?
-
Blended cements (e.g., Portland-Limestone Cement (PLC), Type 1L)
-
Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCMs):
-
Slag (GGBFS) – A byproduct of steel production
-
Fly Ash – From coal-fired power plants
-
Silica Fume – A byproduct of silicon production
-
Pozzolans (e.g., calcined clay, metakaolin, volcanic ash)
-
-
EDS Concrete uses PLC Cement, and further incorporates SCM (cement substitutes) such as slag and limestone powder. Slag is a by-product of the iron and steel industry – so this would classify as a recycled product. Limestone powder requires minimal processing, leading to significantly lower emissions than cement powder. Our reinforcement rod is also comprised of 41% recycled steel.
Optimized Aggregate Use & Mix Design
-
More limestone powder (acts as a filler, improving efficiency).
-
Recycled aggregates from demolished concrete reduce the need for new material extraction.
-
Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) reduces material usage while maintaining strength.
We use locally sourced aggregates (sand & stone) for our mix design, and batch optimized mix designed within our plant. All mixed product is used, and any additional material is placed into no-aesthetic construction barrier blocks. Any and all rejected product that we produce, is broken down and recycled back into reusable aggregates.
Energy-Efficient Production & Curing
-
Lower kiln temperatures in cement plants (e.g., using alternative fuels like biomass or hydrogen).
-
Steam curing in precast plants optimized for lower energy use.
-
3D printing of concrete to reduce material waste.
In our plant we have invested in energy saving equipment like hydronic radiant floor heat, steam curing, and industrial heat preserving door curtains.
